Travis Gyldstrand plans to focus his efforts on improving the affordable/workforce housing of Hawai’i’s people and drastically lowering the cost of living through the use of renewable energy. He is passionate about food security and becoming more self-sustaining through agriculture, aquaculture, and hemp. Gyldstrand understands we need a strong foundation to power us to a self-sufficient and diverse economy that emphasizes food and energy production. Under his direction, he intends to bring education reform and pledges to do what it takes to bring a hospital to West Maui’s 10th District.
Gyldstrand has organized numerous beach and highway cleanup efforts, as well as contributed to those in need through volunteering and donations within the community. He believes by following the five principles of the Aloha Āina Party, Hawai’i will thrive in a big way.
Gyldstrand was born and raised in Huntington Beach, California and attended High School in Northwest Georgia. He studied Business and Psychology at Georgia Highlands College before moving to the island of Maui to be closer to family. Being a resident in district 10 for the past 10 years, Gyldstrand has a deep love and respect for the Hawaiian culture and has a true passion to realign government back to the People, by restoring trust through transparency. Gyldstrand is the Founder and Owner of HempStrand, a high-quality all hemp brand dedicated to hemp made products and giving back to the community.
As a local business owner, Travis understands that the people and businesses in Hawai’i are affected daily by the decisions made by our government and he intends to give a voice to the concerns of the community and ensure their interests are being fairly and honestly represented on Oahu at the state level.
